Friday Focus 9 Sept

Dear Parents/Carers,

A warm welcome back to you all!

We have had a great first week back but there are certainly some tired eyes in school today!!

The children are looking so smart in their uniforms, it is so lovely to see the team colours of Maesycoed Primary been worn by all once again. Please can you ensure that you have labelled each item of clothing as even after the first week we have had jumpers and cardigans in the lost property box. We are also recycling any old uniform that you no longer have use for.

The children have been getting to know each other again during the first week of our Well Being fortnight. They have carried out activities about friendships and being positive member of their class and the school. The class teachers will be sending out messages to you regarding arrangements for the class including class topics and trips etc.

We observed a minutes silence today following the death of Queen Elizabeth II and we remembered the activities we did to celebrate the Platinum Jubilee back in June.

We are encouraging the children to use their Welsh language skills throughout the day and we thought we might share some of these with you so that you can also practise at home.

Bore da- (bor-e-dar) - Good Morning

Prynhawn da (prin-hawn-dar) -Good Afternoon

Os gwelwch yn dda (oss- gwell-ooch-yn -tha) - Please

Diolch (dee-ol-ch) - Thank you

The whole school attendance for week 1 is 95.72%

A polite reminder that there are children in school with nut allergies so please do not send in any items in packed lunches that contain nuts. Break times are fruit only and we encourage the children to bring water bottles that can be replenished as they drink their water throughout the day.

We hope you have a great weekend and look forward to seeing you next week.
