This week year three had their last recorder lesson with Miss Harwood. As a treat she brought some of her own instruments in to play to the children.
They had lots of enjoyment listening to the well-known tunes, particularly the Disney themes.
We would like to say a big thank you to Miss Harwood and RCT Music Service for giving year three the opportunity of learning to play the recorder and to read music

Our new topic Survival of the Fittest started this week with a wonderful day with paramedics from 121 medics.
We practised doing CPR and putting each other into the recovery position.
We discussed what a First Aid box contains, how to show kindness and looking after yourself when giving first aid, and
potential dangers in the home.
We really enjoyed a look aroufn the inside of an ambulance too.
Thank you 121 medics for an inspirational day.

Our trip to the South Wales Air Museum September 2022
Year 2/3 had a wonderful day at the South Wales Aviation Museum at St Athans, where we were able to climb onboard different aircraft of all shapes and sizes. On one aeroplane we fastened our seatbelts and took part in the onboard safety instructions, as well as listening to information from the captain. We were able to sit in and explore a wide variety of aircraft large and small. We were also allowed to use the aircraft controls and press all the buttons, which we loved. Please have a look at our photos showing our experience throughout our busy day.
World Book Day
We had great fun celebrating World Book Day. It was lovely to see lots of different book characters and children in their pyjamas. In class we sorted fiction and non- fiction books, drew new book covers and played a game search for 5 e.g 5 authors, 5 characters, 5 illustrators and 5 book titles. Here are some pictures of us having fun.
Making Music
We really enjoyed learning about the different musical notes and making our own patterns. The best part was playing our pieces on different musical instruments.
