Giglets

Just a little reminder about Giglets. Before October half term the children were given their passwords to take home to access a site called Giglets. On this site will be an array of books for you to read to your child and/or for them to read themselves. The school have purchased this and is free for you to use. If you have lost or are having any difficulties using the site please contact your child's teacher.

Techniquest

Year one loved their trip to Techniquest. They learnt about animals and their habitats, enjoyed the activities in the museum and loved their bus ride!

Breakfast with Santa!!

Year 1 absolutely loved their breakfast with Santa event that was supported by our local Sainsbury’s store. They have fair trade bananas, juice, a fruit platter, toast and jam. They loved singing along to the Christmas music and were so excited when Santa arrived ringing his bells, and delivered each child a chocolate Christmas coin.

Thank you Santa and a big thank you for Sainsburys Pontypridd.

Our trip to Pontypridd

Year one had a wonderful morning looking at features of Pontypridd.
They loved looking at St Catherine’s church and enjoyed exploring the local market. They found the new and old bridge and enjoyed discovering and learning about the history of the bridge at Pontypridd library. They had both a tour and a story time at the library and thoroughly enjoyed looking at the books. They touched a newspaper that was published 100 years ago and looked at the oldest book in the library - an ancient and very precious Bible. To finish the trip, we had a great time exploring Pontypridd park which despite the wet weather was great fun.

Our New Classroom September 2022

Year One have absolutely loved exploring their new classroom this term.  They have begun to complete challenges in the different areas of the classroom, explored our outdoor area, created self portraits and their own Colour Monster paintings.  They completed their first 'Fix it Friday' problem solving task where they worked as a team to find a way of moving a ball across the yard without it touching the ground. They successfully used piping and guttering and developed their team work skills.  Well done Year One!

Saint David's Day 2022

We all enjoyed our delicious Welsh breakfast of Welsh cakes, pancakes and fruit to start the day, whilst listening to different Welsh pop music. We had a busy day in class making different crafts based on Daffodils. We drew pictures of daffodils using paint and pastels, we created them using different collage materials and built them using the Lego. We love to sing in class and performed different Welsh songs throughout the day. We also loved watching the other classes perform on the white board.

Thank you to all the children who entered our Eisteddfod creative competition they were all amazing!

We all had lots of fun during the Health and Well-being fortnight. We looked at all the things we need to do to keep our bodies healthy. We especially liked keeping active and worked hard on our circuit training !!!
