Mrs Sheppeard
St David's Day Celebrations, Dydd Gwyl Dewi Sant.
We have had a lovely afternoon walking around the local area spotting different materials. We walked to the rugby club and we were shocked that the grass was plastic! We are tired now but had lots of fun!
MAD SCIENCE WORKSHOP - What a great start to our topic! We explored the properties of different materials and had lots of fun!
We compared old and new toys. We had lots of fun playing with the old toys.
Health and Well-Being - Football Fun session
Look who came for breakfast! Thank you Santa we loved seeing you!
Children In Need - we completed the Bearpee Challenge which was lots of fun!
We looked for signs of Autumn when we walked around the locality. We found lots of leaves, cones and acorns which we brought back to school. We completed Autumn number activities and practised counting with the things we found.
We enjoy riding bikes as part of our Health & Well-being.
There was a Mr Man and Little Miss theme to Comic Relief which we all loved. Even our teachers joined in and decorated their T shirts. We designed red noses and the winner from each class took home a little prize.

World Book Day
We had lots of fun on World Book Day sharing our favourite stories with our friends. It was lovely to see everyone dressed up.
We took spoons home to decorate for a whole school World Book Day Display. They all looked amazing and Mrs Roberts chose our winner from the class.
World Book Day
Our St David's Day celebrations took place in the middle block hall, where we joined the other classes in the Foundation Phase in our Eisteddfod. We sang Welsh songs, and showed our Welsh artwork and handwriting. It was a lovely day celebrating our Welsh identity in our Welsh costumes and rugby shirts.
Lunar New Year
In January we celebrated the Lunar New Year. We tried picking up noodles with chopsticks and made lucky red envelopes. We also had fun re-enacting the fable of the naming of the Chinese years, using animal masks and racing across the 'river' we created in the hall.
School Trip to Techniquest
Our first school trip on a bus was a great day out. We enjoyed the show at Techniquest where we found out lots of information about animals and where they live. Then we had our packed lunches and explored all the wonderful exhibits. We played in the water, went down the big slide and loved trying out all the fun things to do. Lots of us fell asleep on the bus on the way back.
Breakfast with Santa
A special visitor came to the Bottom Block to see us. We had no idea who it was going to be. Imagine our excitement when we heard the bells and the HO! HO! HO! and Father Christmas came to see us for breakfast. We had a lovely time eating fruit and toast and singing Christmas songs.
World Cup
We watched Wales playing football against Iran in the World Cup on our big screen in the classroom. Lots of us came to school wearing Welsh tops and we waved Welsh flags and supported our national team. We raised the roof with our singing!
Children in Need
In November we came to school wearing spotty clothes and pyjamas to raise money for Children in Need. We had a fun day colouring pictures of Pudsey Bear and making models with yellow playdough.
Penalty Shoot Out!
Our class took part in a penalty shoot out to see how fast we could kick the ball into the net. We had a great time and some of our shots were really fast. Even our teachers had a go, but they weren't as good as us!
People Who Help Us
We had a visit from two police constables who came to talk to the class about the work they do to help our community. We asked lots of questions and listened carefully to find out how the police help to look after us.
Autumn
We celebrated the arrival of Autumn by making pictures of Autumn trees. We used paint and collaged our pictures to show how the trees change at this time of year, using brown, yellow, orange and red colours. These were hung on our gallery wall in the classroom.

Just a little reminder about Giglets. Before October half term the children were given their passwords to take home to access a site called Giglets. On this site will be an array of books for you to read to your child and/or for them to read themselves. The school have purchased this and is free for you to use. If you have lost or are having any difficulties using the site please contact your child's teacher.
